Our Most Recent News ( Updated May 14, 2008) Dear Friends and Co-laborers,
Greetings from Indiana! We will be in Sarnia, Canada over Motherīs Day weekend. We hope each of you has a great day filled with love and memories as you celebrate your mother this year.
We have been in the US for one month now and our travels have taken us from Florida through North Carolina, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Indiana. We have enjoyed seeing many of our friends and supporters on this eastern leg renewing friendship and making memories. We look forward to the next 7 weeks or so of our travels in central and western USA, as well.
Up-date on Napo River Seminars Jorge, our river administrator, left the first part of April for the Napo River on the speed boat to hold five Word Seminars in different locations. He recently returned with the following report. (All salvations recorded are adults.) In the village of Libertad there were 86 seminar students, 5 salvations, 10 water baptisms, and 25 received the baptism of the Spirit. In Santa Clotilde there were 80 seminar students, 7 salvations, 8 water baptisms, and 20 receive the baptism of the Spirit. In Santa Maria there were 37 students, 3 salvations, 7 water baptisms and 10 received the baptism of the Spirit. In Nueva Holanda there were 32 students, 3 salvations, 6 water baptisms, 10 receive the Spirit. In Pantoja on the border of Ecuador there was not a new believerīs level taught, everyone had been to previous seminars. There were 37 students, 3 salvations, 3 water baptisms. The Spirit moved powerfully through a communion service to bring needed restoration to some people who had left the church and returned. PTL!
Totals: Students: 272 Salvations: 21 Water Baptism: 34 Baptism of Spirit: 60
There were also many healings. One young man had a painful hernia that disappeared with prayer. Others in each village testified of headache pain, back pain, knee pain, female pains and discomforts being healed with prayer. We praise God for His faithfulness to honor His Word being preached with signs and wonders following.
Prayer Needed for Josiah Paperwork Jorge has one week to push paper work through on the Josiah before he heads down river for another seminar on the Tapiche River. It is time for the annual inspection on the Josiah as well as implementing other items because of new laws passed concerning river vehicles. In March of this year a river boat sank killing over 50 people, so stricter regulations are being put into effect. Please pray for Jorge for favor with the officials in charge and wisdom to work through the red tape.
We have had to do some major interior maintenance on the Josiah this year replacing rusty floor sections and windows that have deteriorated over the past 10 years. Ron was not able to finish the work before we left, so our mechanic and mission students are helping the process along. It will need to be finished and in good shape for the inspection in about two weeks.
We just received an answer to prayer for finances to dry dock the Josiah and do exterior repairs, as well. We hope to do this in the fall after the summer teams. Thank you for praying.
Please pray for the Tapiche/Ucayali River Seminars Jorge will take a small team to the Tapiche and Ucayali Rivers south of Iquitos for two Word Seminars on Monday, May 12th. Please pray for protection from danger and sickness, strength and wisdom to minister to the needs of the people and anointing to preach the Word with signs and wonders following.
At times, it is hard for us to be away from the work that continues to go on in our absence, but God is the one in charge not us. So we rejoice with each praise report we receive knowing that the work is in good hands with our Peruvian staff and leaders. We want to thank you for your continual prayer and investment in the Kingdom of God in the Amazon of Peru.
Abundant blessings on your journey with the Lord, Annette for Ron and family Directors AFCM Peru
